Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

All articles submitted must follow the format provided. Journal Writing Format International Journal of Arabic, Linguistic and Literature (iJALAL):

  1. Page size: B5
  2. Margin (top 2.50, bottom 2.50, left 2.50, right 2.50)
  3. Malay and English articles use Font: Garamond, 12-pt; Arabic articles use Traditional Arabic 16-pt.
  4. Malay articles must be accompanied by a title and abstract in English and vice versa. Arabic articles must be accompanied by an English abstract.
  5. All parts of the article must be single-spaced
  6. There must be a single line between two paragraphs.
  7. Using the author-date system in writing the text and the use of footnotes is not allowed. The author's name in the article is written as (Ahmad 2010), or Ahmad (2010) or the quote is specifically taken, written as Ahmad (2010: 103)
  8. All headers / footers will be coordinated by the editor (not the author).
  9. The length of the article is between 5000-10,000 words.
  10. Articles are submitted online via the link https://ijalal.uis.edu.my/index.php/ijalal/about/submissions.
  11. Arabic book references (including Arabic articles) must be romanized using the transliteration method.

Meaning: From Ibn Buraidah from his father, he said; The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever swears by trust, then he is not from us."
